The app says 'Not connected' — what now?
Open Vitals needs a sync destination. You can use a local server (your home network) or pair via QR with our cloud relay. Open Onboarding, choose a path, and follow the steps. If the QR scan fails, paste the Hex Key manually from your agent.
My data isn't syncing in the background.
iOS background sync depends on iPhone usage patterns and Background App Refresh being enabled. In iPhone Settings → General → Background App Refresh, make sure Open Vitals is allowed. The app also syncs on launch and whenever your agent requests it.
What agent integrations does it work with?
Any HTTP endpoint. We publish an open skill on GitHub at github.com/Exapta-Labs/openvitals-skill that wraps the protocol for use with OpenClaw, Claude, ChatGPT, n8n, and similar tools. You can also build your own integration.
How do I disconnect / delete everything?
Settings (gear icon) → Cloud Relay → Disconnect. The relay state is erased immediately. To also revoke HealthKit access: iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access → Open Vitals → Turn Off All.
Is my health data really encrypted?
Yes — when using the cloud relay, data is encrypted on your device with X25519 key exchange and ChaCha20-Poly1305 before leaving. We can't read it, and we never store it longer than 15 minutes.
